I was really excited to come across this software today and at first glance, it looks like an excellent up to date replacement for touchmote, which has unfortunately been abandoned. I've had a quick look at the two versions of the software available and I'd like to ask some newbie questions if you'll indulge me?
I use a dolphinbar to connect my Wiimotes and it works great. I could use it to connect my Wiimotes in WiinUSoft, but not WiinUPro. Is that expected, or have I messed up? If it's not currently supported in WiinUPro, do you plan to support it in the future? That's kind of a deal maker/breaker for me.
I currently use a combination of Touchmote and DEmulshooter to play lightgun games with my Wiimotes. Using a custom build of Touchmote found here:
With this, I can use the Wiimote's IR as a Joystick and very precisely calibrate it to get line-of-sight shooting on my TV. Is this level of accuracy possible with either WiinUPro or WiinUSoft? If so, how can it be done? I found some settings within WiinUSoft for IR deadzone, but they couldn't be edited manually without configuring every other axis first and I couldn't really see any sort of difference. If it's not possible, again is it something you plan to add in the future?
Interesting. I'm not familiar with how the dolphin bar works, but it would be helpful to know what version of WiinUSoft you were using because v3.2 is supposed to use the same method as WiinUPro 0.9. In order to learn how to support it, I'll have to take a look at what's different.
I don't think that level of accuracy is available yet. I was still fiddling with the fine-tuning of the IR calibration. WiinUPro does have an absolute mouse mode, so if a shooter game supports using the mouse as the cursor you could assign it to that and tune it more easily.
Hi Justin Sorry for necro, but for today I can confirm that latest WiinUSoft and WiinUPro both work with Dolphinbar rev 2 (w010) in its Mode 4
The problem with WiinUPro may be related to Dolphinbar's virtual devices - for example, I have 4 unknown wiimotes and 4 generic joysticks even if nothing is connected, And if I connect a single one, it may be,for example, 3rd in the devices list. Also, device can't reconnect - app needs restarting after Wiimote is disconnected
But in generic, everything works.
We still need some things for improvement, like advanced IR mouse features,
but let's discuss it in already opened topics for this.
I just recently discovered this great app as well.
My question is when I point my WiiMote at the screen the cursor is always higher than where I am pointing at. I looked in the IR calibration and couldn't seem to find a way to change the absolute center if that makes sense. Maybe I am missing something?
