First of all thanks for the great software, it has given my wii controllers new life and purpose, and it works great with most games.
However, I have come to notice that on some games, it causes a major freeze on my system. Where the game loads but seems to be operating at like 1 frame per minute and even to open the task manager takes a minute or so. Like there's a major memory leak or something that is suddenly using up all my resources. I know the issue is with wiinupro, because when I shut wiinupro, then the game loads quickly. I'm on windows 7 64, using a wii u pro controller and the toshiba stack. I have an i7-7700 and 16 gigs of ram with a RX 480 8gig for graphics.
So far I've identified 4 games that this happens with. They all seem to be 'unity' engine games, but other unity engine games do work, so I don't know if that's the issue or not.
I tried it with and without 'exclusive' mode and the controller is set to the standard xbox profile.
Any suggestions for things I could try or fixes for the problem?
I know in a previous version of WiinUPro there was a memory leak but that had been fixed. I do plan to do an entire performance optimization at a later date but normal performance shouldn't be that bad.
I'm curious as to what version of the Unity Engine these games were made with, are they older or newer games? It's possible some variance in how Unity samples input could be part of the issue or even how those games sample input.
Hi Justin, Thanks for the reply! One of the games it does it on is Electronic Super Joy 2, which is free to play on Steam. In that folder the unityplayer dll version is 2017.3.1.7475. Another game is "degrees of separation" which has a unityplayer DLL version 2017.4.11.27543
I don't know where one gets the exact version the game itself was built on from, but I'd guess those DLLs would probably be indicative of the sort of time that the games were been developed.
The other two games I discovered so far were 'Stikbold' and 'Death Squared'.
But yes, it definitely isn't just a Unity engine problem because I've played lots of other games built on Unity with no issues. If you'd like me to drop you the assembly files for any of these games to have a look at just tell me where.
